Jaguar have been reliable since ceasing to be part of British Leyland more than three decades ago, and even in the 1970s the issue was not a major one and only even noticeable in comparison to Mercedes at the peak of their reliability and build quality.
iFonzie • 2 hr. ago. Without any details provided, I would say you should probably be making "enough to afford it". I was making about $40k a year when I bought mine, and put down $55k. Expect to spend $2k in maintenance costs and $3k on insurance. You will likely drive more often so expect to spend more on premium fuel.
I think what the commenter was referring to was either Lotus or Volvo (also was owned by Ford) as their owned by Geely a Chinese conglomerate. jeepskinn • 3 yr. ago. They used to be all British, then they joined with Land Rover and were bought from Ford in 2008 by the Chinese parent company Tata Motors.
For me Jaguar died in the late 70s, all of their best road cars were from the 40s to the 60s and a couple in the 70s. The current lineup is just bland as hell to me, the F-Type is the only one I would be seen dead in and it's a pretty cool car but the rest just seem so ugly and bloated looking, I just don't get it.
Overall Reliability. NA. We expect the 2024 F-Type to be less reliable than other new cars. This prediction is based on Jaguar's brand history. The 2019 Jaguar F-Type has been recalled 2 times by
It is a surprisingly reliable car. The reputation for Jaguar unreliability (mechanically) is something I have yet to see with friends and family who have had/have a number of the final generation of XJ, XE, and the first generation XF. The user interface/screen may be frustrating, but the rest of the car has a high chance of being great.

On average, Jaguar F-Types cost about $1,400 per year to maintain. These annual costs increase as your vehicle ages, ranging from $500-$2,400 per year. This is higher-than-average for luxury convertible vehicles, but the cost of ownership will be lower if you properly maintain your vehicle. Below, we’ll discuss more information on Jaguar F

The F-Type rear end just looks like it needs a refresh. Especially the taillights. It looks dated compared to most other LED taillights on luxury cars, even after the refresh. If they stretched out that semicircle a bit more it’d look way better.

Between 2000 and 2008 I drove every day to work in a 67 E-Type. The only thing that failed was a German fuel pump! I now have a 1987 Xj6, almost flawless. We did have to replace the ignition and the headliner. a 2014 F-TYpe S (Now called 380), no problems at all.

Thinking of buying a used F-Type - Jaguar F-Type Forum. Please HELP! Thinking of buying a used F-Type. I've always owned Mercs and thinking of buying a used 2014 F-Type this week with 29,000 miles on the clock. I've never had a single issue with any Merc and I've looked through a ton of forums for F-Types and can't see any clear answers F-pace reliability. I plan to buy a 2020 f-pace and at the dealership there are currently two models. a 4 cylinder turbo and a 6 cylinder supercharge. of course the 6 cylinder is obviously the most fun. my question was in terms of reliability is the model with the 6 cylinder supercharge less reliable than the turbo 4? Do you have a magic 8-ball Jaguar & Aston Martin sure do know how to create some of the most FUN ways to reach 0-60. With this around 60k and the Aston Martin V8 Vantage Gt for around 100k the brits seem to be getting aggressive in their pricing.

The F-Type is pretty solid. But there are three important issues to watch when buying one (and none is a deal breaker imo): Supercharger isolator rattle, fuel injector smoke screen and the diff. E-Diff is known to cook itself, all the diffs are known to fail and/or weep due to bad seals.
